Alphabet · a vowel at the end of a word
i
Hear the sound of i
Final i is not always a full, separate vowel. In many plurals such as bani and elevi it is reduced and softens the preceding consonant; in a loanword such as taxi, i is a full, clearly heard vowel.
This plays the Romanian /i/ sound by itself. In words, final i varies with the preceding consonant and the word.
All playback uses browser speech synthesis, not reviewed speaker recordings.
